In the dance drama "Five Stars Rising from the East", the "Lantern Dance" dance segment, also known as "The Call of the Ancients", offers a new interpretation of the ancient Qiuci music and dance. Qiuci music and dance is an important art form in the ancient western regions, famous for its diverse and integrated cultural characteristics, and is known as "the song and dance from the heavenly palace". This dance segment draws inspiration from the "Qiuci Mural" in the Kizil Grottoes on the Silk Road, and incorporates the postures and movements of the celestial beings of the music. The dancers, like fairies walking out of the murals, gracefully holding lotus lanterns. Its rich Western Region style vividly reproduces the delicate actions in the murals: "snapping fingers", "head movement", and "neck movement", showcasing the ancient Western Region people's prayers and blessings for a good life.
